Hey there!
So I have a few things to talk about. First of all, I haven't made a blog post on my site in a LONG time (2021), so I apologize. I will probably be blogging a bit more, maybe even with videos to make them a little more personal and engaging.
BAD NEWS
So I don't know if you have heard of Groupies but I have done bundles with them in the past and they paid me, everything was cheeky. This last time my bud Christian from Groupees, asked me if I would do another bundle. I said sure! He asked for Bandcamp codes this time. The thing about Bandcamp codes is they cost money. You get them either through sales, or buying direct. For the latest bundle, I needed thousands of codes. Luckily I had them all in my account, but I still had to buy about $120 worth to deliver the package to Groupies for selling. Fast forward, it's been about 9 months and I reach out to them and ask what's going on. Christian told me he left the company, not sure of the reason, and to reach out to Matt (CEO). I did that with no response. So then I made a support ticket and asked for my bundle to end. They DID respond to that, ended the bundle, dropped the page from their server, and forgot to mention payment. I respond and ask, no response! So then I asked Christian again to help me even though he is no longer working for Groupies, and Matt never responded to him either. I am SOL. I may have only gotten $500-700 dollars from the 86 sale, but it's the PRINCIPLE of the thing, ya know?
GOOD NEWS
I am about to finish making music for a game called Ironstrike. It is out already but I am adding songs as DLC. The music is NOT electronic at all. It's an interesting combination of Hand/Pan Drum, Cello, Harp, and Drums. For the battle tracks, it's more rock-influenced but it plays the same melodies as the underscore version of the song. Also, my new Big Beat album is about to drop on March 27th. I am ALSO composing music for a game called Zero Point which is NOT finished yet and the music hasn't been implemented but it's really turning out great.
NEW NEWS
So, Epic Games now owns Bandcamp and there have been a lot of layoffs. This type of news worries me since my music LIVES on Bandcamp. I started the rigorous process of uploading my entire catalog to Shopify so I can sell directly to you without a middleman (well I guess Shopify would be, but they don't take a percentage of sales like Bandcamp does) I get paid the MOST through sales in THIS shop. It also has a permanent buy 2 get 1 free coupon applied on digital music and moving forward I am going to promote products that are in the shop. I can install tracking pixels on Shopify for finding new buyers/fans but I can't do that with Bandcamp.

and lastly,
EDM Commute was something I really enjoyed doing but couldn't keep it up due to life getting in the way. I also couldn't reboot it when I wanted to because I left my old music distributor and the whole point of the podcast is to promote the Spotify/iTunes releases that are being played on the show. I have since started uploading my catalog back to Spotify and iTunes. I had to get a lot of things sorted before doing so but I am back on track to get them all back up. So that means I can reboot the EDM Commute podcast. No promises yet but I am shooting for Summerish.
Hope you have a blessed week!
